The Match

By Katherine Skillestad Winans, Ph.D. Associate Professor, Director of Clinical Training of the Psy.D. Program | Posted on Friday, March 25, 2022

The College of Social and Behavioral Sciences congratulates the Psy.D. students who participated in the 2022 Association of Psychology Postdoctoral and Internship Centers (APPIC) Match! The APPIC was established in 1968 to help internship programs obtain candidates for their positions. A scientific algorithm places individuals at training sites based on their ranked order preferences and is administered through the National Matching Services Inc. Three thousand nine hundred and eighty applicants registered for the 2022 Match, and overall, 96% were successfully matched. This year eight Â鶹ÉäÇø students participated in the APPIC Match, and all students obtained an internship approved by the American Psychological Association (APA). Among our eight candidates, 75% matched at their first or second choice (n = 6). As a result, Â鶹ÉäÇø students will complete their clinical training across the nation in New Jersey, Florida, California, Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, and Missouri. For an in-depth look at the Match, check out the National Matching Services Inc. website at APPIC Match (natmatch.com). Finally, thank you to the staff, faculty, and students for their hard work and dedication to the Psy.D. Program. We are so excited for each of you as you take the next step in your journey!
